About Barbara Kellogg
I am an experienced Early
Childhood Teacher with a special interest in building creativity
through music and art. I have an Associates Degree in Nursery
Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a
Master of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am
licensed by the state of Massachusetts as a Large Family
Childcare Provider. I am also a certified teacher in the
following areas in both Massachusetts and New York: Pre-School,
Elementary (K-6), Lead Teacher Infant/Toddler and Lead Teacher
Pre-School. My experience includes Public School Classroom
Teacher for a total of 13 years, Substitute Teaching, Pre-School
and Infant/Toddler Teacher at Cushman Hill Childrens’ Center and
now 15 years as an Early Childhood Teacher/Family Childcare
Provider. I draw on my experience with families and children
often and am proud of how successful the program has become.
In order to
remain current on new developments in early childhood education,
Sheila and I attend seminars and workshops on a regular basis.
I also do
occasional work for NES (National Evaluation Systems) as a
consultant on an “as needed” basis. I review Early Childhood
and Elementary School Teacher Certification Tests and give
feedback. I enjoy this opportunity and it helps me keep
informed of the changes in the field of education.
I am thrilled
to have Sheila working with me as Co-Teacher. Her presence
strengthens the program in so many ways. We have chosen
childcare as a career and enjoy it. If, at any time, you have a
concern or a question regarding the program, please let us know.
I grew up in
Upstate New York and now enjoy living here in Hadley with my
husband, Scott and our daughter, Tiffany. Tiffany is currently
a college student while also working part-time.

About Sheila Rhodes-Dow
I have a B.A.
in Women’s Studies and a patchwork quilt of job experience. I
became interested in working with Barbara while spending time at
her program helping my son acclimate to his first childcare
experience.
Immediately
upon meeting Barbara and visiting the program, I knew that this
was a special and safe place. Barbara and I got to know each
other over the time it took my son to adjust to childcare (and
me to adjust to letting him out of my sight). Barbara and I
worked well together as my son’s care-taking team and then
co-workers while I volunteered in the program for a year and a
half.
While
requests for childcare increased at Barbara’s, my interest in
working with young children was growing also. Barbara and I
decided to commit to expanding the childcare program and working
together, continuing our teamwork.
